Detailed Schedule

Spectators and participants are urged to attend the 19th Annual Classic & Wooden Boat Festival
at DCMM's waterfront grounds in Sturgeon Bay! August 1 & 2, 2009.
Hours on Saturday are 9AM - 4PM and on Sunday from 10AM - 4PM.

New events and new grounds layout!
Due to significant feedback from both exhibitors and attendees after last year's show, trailered boats will now be displayed prominently in the front parking lot area, which will be encompassed in the festival perimiter and allow for easy drive-in access for set-up. Small craft will still enjoy the grassy waterside area, and in-water displays are welcome,
but space is extremely limited (please call for dock availability).

WANTED: BOAT OWNERS

Enter your boat for judging. Twenty-four hour boat security is provided Friday evening through Sunday morning.

          • Team of trained judges & the public vote on the entries *view the Results here!*
          • Enter your boat without charge--free!
          • Register online, call (920-743-5958), or  e-mail us to receive an entry form by postal mail

Entertainment
Musical guests Bounding Main will be on hand Saturday to serenade the crowd with their unique blend of sea shanties and nautical tunes. Keep a wary eye & ear out for this fun pirate troupe as they wander the grounds! There will be stationary concert performances throughout the day, too. "Bounding Main is a costumed vocal group that sings richly harmonic versions of traditional maritime songs. Their shows are filled with spirit, humor and harmony; their arrangements of traditional nautical music bring the listener into the world of pirates, adventure and romance."

Cheer on your favorite Sikaflex Challenge team as a hand-made vessel appears before your very eyes on Saturday morning. This "quick & dirty" boat-building contest is an annual highlight of the Festival. Be sure to come back on Sunday and vote for your favorite; the People's Choice Award is a coveted prize indeed. The breakneck-pace action culminates on Sunday afternoon, when each festooned team gets a chance to try their vessel in the timed sea trials! Results

Younger festival-goers will have a chance to try their hand at boat-building, too! Kids may choose a tug or sailboat model kit, assemble it, and decorate it to their liking (one boat per child, please).
Best your friends in games such as the mini-tug races, and learn to tie nautical knots.

in addition to popular "regular features," there will be a Paint The Bay competition & silent auction,
as well as a nautical authors element incorporating both book signings and speaker presentations!
