You can eat, laugh and help a worthy cause all in the same evening, when the popular Comedy Club at The Landmark Resort's Carrington Pub & Grill in Egg Harbor hosts a benefit show for the Door County Maritime Museum on Thursday night, Feb. 25.
The Landmark Resort has hosted a golf outing for the Maritime Museum for a number of years, and this year elected to insert an additional Comedy Club evening into their schedule. Patti Bissen, general manager at the Landmark Resort, says that “the resort has scheduled a special February 25th Comedy Club as a fundraiser for the Museum. It is part of our ongoing partnership with the Museum.”
The Landmark Resort’s Comedy Club season runs from November through May, bringing in top performers from across the country on the second Thursday of each month. Each Comedy Club features two comics. The evening begins at 6:30 with a buffet dinner to be followed by the show at 8:00; the price of the dinner and show is only $20.99 per person.
The Thursday, February 25th performance is supplementary to the regular Comedy Club schedule, added specifically as a unique Maritime Museum fundraising event. As well as the portion of the proceeds that the Landmark is donation to the Museum, a sailor's hat will be passed to collect free-will contributions from the audience.
This special offering in the series features headlining comedians Bob Jay and Sharon Lacey. Jay brings dozens of celebrities and cartoon characters to life in his stand-up performance. He has also mastered numerous sound effects, from jet fighters to crashing locomotives, and crafted them into a show that has been compared to Billy Crystal and Rich Little. Meanwhile, much of Lacey's comedy comes from her experiences as a former middle school teacher. She freely admits that keeping audiences laughing is a lot more fun that breaking up fights between adolescent boys, and she’ll take you on a hysterical journey through the school halls, parenting, other jobs, and life.
