Caring about families in our communities, Door County Maritime Museum and the Family Centers of Door County are proud to announce a Family Day celebration to kick off National Family Week on Sunday, November 22, 2009.
This collaboration represents an opportunity for two community non-profit organizations and you to celebrate National Family Week: the Museum which features the presentation of maritime history in engaging ways; the Family Center which has a network of families; and you, who may wish to bring your family, neighbors or friends to this event.
On Sunday, November 22 from 1-5:00 p.m. the Museum will host Family Day. Families may tour four galleries of permanent exhibits; explore “Freshwater Fury,” the history-making 1913 Great Lakes storm; engage in craft activities; or tour the tug “John Purves.”
This event endeavors to celebrate and promote connections that support and strengthen families (through engagement outside of the home) and introduce area families to educational opportunities and interactive fun at the Museum. Family Centers promotes healthy family relationships while the Maritime Museum preserves maritime history and provides educational and outreach activities.
Family Day is a ticketed event. We encourage you to invite another family and introduce them to the Museum. Strong families are at the center of strong communities! Participation is free, but advance reservations are required as space is limited! To reserve your place at Family Day, contact the Museum at (920) 743-5958.
