Each Fall, Winter and Spring, the Door County Maritime Museum hosts experts and interesting characters from around the country for the Maritime Speaker Series (presented in partnership with series sponsor Door County Medical Center). The Maritime Speaker Series offers an assortment of monthly programs – from historical topics to current issues affecting the Great Lakes and the economy that relies on them.

The Door County Medical Center Maritime Speaker Series programs are the first Thursday of each month, October through April, beginning at 7pm, on the second floor of the Museum, and online. No cost to attend; suggested donation of a non-perishable food item, or if watching online, we ask you to make a food donation to your local food pantry.

- October 2: The 50th Anniversary of the Sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Presenter: Chris Winters, Board Member of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum
- November 6: The Cobia Comes to Town. Presenter: Karen Duvalle, Curator of the Cobia at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum
- December 4: The End of WWII. Presenter: Kevin Osgood, President & CEO of the Door County Maritime Museum
- January 1: No program this month
- February 5: The Patriot Racing Project: Fostering Veteran Belonging through Community Boating. Presenter: Captain Jack Gage, Founder of Patriot Racing Project
- March 5: Christy Corp’s Last Stand. Presenter: Brennan Christianson, Collections Manager at the Door County Maritime Museum
- April 2: Diving the Lakeland 100 Years Later: How Wisconsin Pioneered Scuba Diving Science. Presenter: Bill Pelky, DESCO Corporation
